Loving London Days

It was a great week here in London!  Aside from classes and the usual stuff, here are a few highlights!

I had a full day on Tuesday exploring the Natural History Museum, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and Harrods!

The Natural History Museum was really neat!  There were all sorts of exhibits including the earth, mammals, dinosaurs, and Charles Darwin's Theory of Evolution.  I went through it all,  but my favorite part was making friends with some museum employees and having the opportunity to hold Tripod, the three-legged chameleon!

While I had explored some of the Victoria and Albert Museum last week with class, it was cool to go back and walk around on my own!  The museum is the largest decorative art museum in the world, so there was quite a bit more to see!

Next, I ventured into the famous London department store, HARRODS!  It was a blast to wander through and see everything in there including chocolates, appliances, souvenirs, books, toys, clothes, jewelry, and even an entire Disney store and Disney cafe!

On Wednesday, I went to the Tate Britain for a class field trip in the morning!  All of the paintings we are reading about in our book are featured there, so it was awesome to be able to see the art in real life!

Next, I traveled on to our meeting point for my next class trip, History of London, which was meeting in The City.  Since I had the time, I decided to walk, which would take about an hour.  On my way, I stopped in at the Imperial War Museum, and I am very glad that I did!  It was interesting to see the different perspective in which wars are taught here as opposed to what I have learned throughout school in the United States.  (I also think this might be a place that Drew and Lake might like to visit when they come to London!)

In the afternoon, my class walked all throughout The City and we learned about Roman and Medieval times in London!

The walk concluded at the Museum of London where I finished my afternoon adventure!

I am loving life in London!!! Now, I am excited for another weekend here beginning today! =)
