I've Made It To London!

Greetings from London!

I am excited to report that as of yesterday morning, I have made it safely "across the pond"  =)  After a terrific Christmas Break in Canfield, I am thrilled to be starting my big adventure in the UK!

Successfully navigating from Heathrow Airport to the Atlantic House (AIFS home base) via the Tube was a bit tricky with all of my luggage, but I made it with a bit of help from some Londoners!  I even found two other girls from my same program in the Tube station.... as we were all struggling up the stairs with our luggage we made this realization!

(Please excuse this gross picture of me after hours of traveling... yikes!)

I was assigned a fourth floor room with one roommate, Allyson (who goes to Ohio State University) and we are getting along great!

It has been a whirlwind of a time since my arrival!  Yesterday, we had some orientation presentations for Richmond (IT set up, residential life, etc.), enjoyed a walking tour of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (Absolutely love that I can say I am living in a royal borough!!), and finished the evening with a stop at "The Builders Arms" a pub right down the street from Atlantic House.

Today, after shopping around High Street Kensington for a few necessities, we took a bus tour all around London!  It was terrific to see all of the major highlights of this amazing city!

Buckingham Palace

Westminster Abbey

Big Ben

 Tower Bridge

Tonight we enjoyed an amazing performance of WICKED at the Apollo Victoria Theater!  What a show... I loved it! And we had awesome seats too!

Goodnight from London!
