After a great day in London, (visiting Kensington Palace!!) on Friday night, I took the Megabus (and ferry) headed for Paris! While I didn't sleep more than an hour throughout the journey, I was so excited to finally get to Paris on Saturday morning!! Meeting up with Madeline in the Metro Station was a little bit stressful, as we had no way to be in touch with one another, but once we managed to reunite, all was well!!
We headed to Claire's apartment, where we would be staying, and were welcomed by her lovely, tiny, flat in a great location near the Sacre-Coeur (Roman Catholic Church at the top of a hill with a great view of the city). After chatting with her for a bit, Madeline and I set off to conquer Paris!!! We had a full day, enjoying scenery and shopping around the Sacre-Coeur, the Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomph, and we finished the evening enjoying the sparkling Eiffel Tower and a cozy late dinner back at the flat!
On Sunday we began the day early with The Louvre and Musee d'Orsay in the morning! (My favorite was d'Orsay... I loved seeing art by Manet, Monet, Degas, Renoir, Cezanne, Van Gogh, and more! Just amazing!!)
The Louvre
Musee d'Orsay
We also walked over to Notre Dame, the "Love Lock" Bridge, and the Shakespeare and Company book store!
What an excellent weekend!!! It was sad to say goodbye at the Metro yesterday, as Madeline and I parted ways! After another long journey back to London on the Megabus, I got in this morning just in time for classes!! Needless to say I am totally exhausted and totally thrilled with what an amazing weekend it has been! =)
