On Friday morning Meg, Kelsey, Allyson and I went to Kew Gardens (claimed to be the world's most famous botanical gardens)! It was a lovely day, and we enjoyed taking our time and exploring all that this royal garden had to offer on such a Springy April day!
After that we checked out our school's home campus in Richmond, England! While it was neat to check out our home base, I am definitely very happy to be located at the Kensington branch. After a semester in the royal borough here, I wouldn't trade this awesome London location for anything!
On Saturday we took a day trip to Cambridge, England! Pictured below are some highlights from this historical university town including Mathematical bridge (which Sir Isaac Newton is said to have originally designed without using any bolts or anything besides gravity), Cavendish Laboratory and The Eagle Pub where Watson and Crick first discovered and announced the structure of DNA, and St. Benet's Church (including the oldest bell tower in England). It was a beautiful and sunny day, and we enjoyed walking around town and then playing cards along the bank of the River Cam for most of the afternoon!
After returning to London, Allyson and I enjoyed dinner on the outside patio of Byron Burgers' which was great! It is so nice to have the opportunity to appreciate the Spring weather here! =)
This morning began with a terrific Sunday brunch with Meg and Kelsey! It was so cool to finally enjoy a meal at one of the fancy Kensington breakfast spots right around the corner from Atlantic House!
The day then consisted of working on finals and school stuff.... Allyson and I did finish off the weekend with dinner at the Builder's Arms pub right down the street though! =)
We are all definitely feeling the crunch of our last bit of time here in London!! It is crazy how much of a home this city feels after living here for four months! While I am very excited to be heading home, it will definitely be very sad to say goodbye to this place!!
